A newly revised version of A.R. Gurney’s The Old Boy opens off-Broadway on March 5 at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row. The Keen Company production has already announced a one week extension, and will now run through March 30.
Gurney’s 1991 drama follows an ambitious politician who returns to his alma mater to make a commencement speech, only to learn of his best friend’s death—and why he may be responsible for it. Peter Rini stars, alongside a cast including Laura Esterman, Cary Donaldson, Marsha Dietlein Bennett, Chris Dwan and Tom Riis Farrell.
The production is directed by Keen Company artistic director Jonathan Silverstein (Marry Me a Little) and features set design by Steven Kemp, costumes by Jennifer Paar, lighting by Josh Bradford and sound and original music by Ryan Rumery.
